The cabin is located in a remote area so hotels are limited. Plus, Labor Day weekend is one of the busiest holidays, so please consider booking early and do not hesitate to contact us for recommendations. We suggest out-of-town folks stay in Fairplay (45 mins from the cabin). Click here for a list of hotels, restaurants, and activities in Fairplay.
Hotels | Bed & Breakfasts
The Riverside Inn is your standard, no-frills hotel. There are also two quaint bed and breakfasts in Fairplay-- the Hand Hotel and the Fairplay Valition-- that will make you feel like you are coming through on a stage coach. We will likely book a block of rooms at one of these places, so just tell us if you are interested so we can gauge need.
Rental homes
There are a number of rental homes and cabins in the area, and our families have found some great ones around Fairplay or Como. We recommend using AirBnB and VRBO, but be mindful of the location, as some places (ahem, Breckenridge) are actually quite a drive. Shoot us an email and we can assist!
Camping
Want to stay even closer? The adventurous (or the-last-minute-folks, which is usually where we land) can camp in tents on the Sutherland property, or in campers and tents in Pike National Forest, Terryall Resoirvoir, or a number of places within 10 minutes! Let us know in advance if you need help locating a tent. Also, please note there will be outhouses but no showers on the Sutherland property.
